It's back! Television's upbeat, dramatic, jazz-hand crazy show Glee has returned for its third season! Although last season ended with disappointment – if you've forgotten, Finn and Rachel's unforgettable onstage kiss caused them to lose their chances at the National Show Choir Competition and receive twelfth place–this season seems to be off with a bang, taking the cast and its musical storylines back to where it all began!

One great thing this show does is bring back classic songs and make them radio-friendly.  The musical numbers performed by New Directions, "We Got the Beat" by the Go-Go's and "You Can't Stop the Beat" from the hit Broadway musical "Hairspray," do exactly this! The high-energy dance moves snatch our attention and the vocals add variation to the song, making them memorable for viewers.

The storylines opening the season are definitely intriguing for viewers. We get a taste of Mr. Schuester and Miss. Pillsbury's new relationship (including some cute lunch-making scenes!), making us all excited for what should be a strong future together. We also learn more about Rachel and Kurt's dream of making it to New York City; we're able to see a great performance of ‘Ding! Dong! The Witch Is Dead' (from the "Wizard of Oz") as they prepare for a meet and greet for the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts. New characters are also introduced!

Lindsay Pearce, a contestant of The Glee Project, leads a mash-up of Broadway favorites, "Anything Goes" and "Anything You Can Do," bringing back the competitive edge to the show! It leads to a great moment between Kurt and Rachel as they realize how much work they're going to have to put in to make it to New York City.

There are also some politics brewing on the show as we discover Sue Sylvester is running for office, with an extremely anti-arts and, essentially, anti-Glee club. Surprisingly, this platform boosts her campaign and leads us to believe that there may be trouble ahead for New Directions! The glee club also gains a new member–a friendly face for any returning Glee watcher! Blaine, with the help of boyfriend Kurt, decides to transfer to McKinley High! He does an absolutely dazzling performance of "It's Not Unusual" (originally performed by Tom Jones), reminding viewers of his authenticity. He brings so much depth to the show, not only with his relationship with Kurt, but his blatantly honest talent; he is genuine in the most absolute sense.

The first episode really got things moving for the show, and it will be interesting to see where the series heads throughout the season. Will New Directions have their second chance at nationals? Will Sue Sylvester win the election and destroy glee club? Well, if you're as eager for the answers as I am, tune in to Fox at 7 p.m. on Tuesday nights. You won't be sorry!
