You know how everyone wanted to wring the neck of whoever decided that there should be more than one Shrek movie? That's how I feel about some of the TV shows these days that never seem to end and get worse as they go. However, one series that seems to be aging like fine wine is Grey's Anatomy—it's getting better with every season, with the only downside being the wait for the next season's premiere.
The last episode of the seventh season was as suspenseful as ever, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats, waiting to see what happens next. After wanting nothing more than to find out answers to questions, finally being able to watch the premiere of the eighth season of Grey's Anatomy almost had me in a state of euphoria. There were some things that I didn't necessarily see coming, but the two-hour premiere was absolutely great.
First of all, despite the fact that it was a clear possibility that Meredith would get fired for messing with Derek's clinical trial, I was just as shocked as if I never would have seen it coming. Also, the way that Derek was treating Meredith ticked me off. I know she messed with something that was important to him, but how could he act so harshly toward her? It's not that I thought the script should have been different; I just didn't like it in the emotional aspect.
The thing that really tugged at my heartstrings, though, was when Owen kept trying to convince Christina to keep the baby. You could see it in his eyes how much he wanted to make a family with her, and it's a bit sad that she isn't the type of person to want to keep it. That was something that, in a way, I wish would have gone differently.
Something to add a bit of humor to the premiere was April's attempt at being Chief Resident and trying to get everyone to listen to her. At the same time, it could have been Alex if only he hadn't snitched on Meredith. He did try to fix things after everyone got mad at him and Meredith got fired, but it was a bit too late. It's a good thing he helped out Meredith in the end by acting as if he was checking up on Zola after Meredith decided to take her and hide for a few hours (even though Zola still got taken away in the end).
Overall, I loved the premiere of the eighth season of Grey's Anatomy. I was feeling so many emotions, as any good show should do to a person. I'm anxious to continue watching the season, and I hope other people are, too. It's a great show, and, unlike many shows that go on for this long, it isn't something that gets boring or unentertaining.
