According to the La Crosse Tribune, La Crosse County supervisor Jill Billings beat a field of four Democrats Tuesday in a race for the state's vacant 95th Assembly district seat Oct. 11.

Billings won the partisan primary with 52 percent of the votes. Rival Christine Clair, president of the La Crosse public school board, was second with 32 percent.

 The general election will be held on Nov.8. The other democratic candidates were Christine Clair, Nick Charles, Jill Billings and David Krump. The Republican candidate was David Drewes.
