Dr. Greg Wegner: Wisconsin Professor of the Year

Congratulations to History Professor Greg Wegner in winning the 2011 Wisconsin Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. Dr. Wegner is humbled by the honor, but he points to his students. He has taught more than 6,000 students over his 31 year teaching career and looks to them for the reason of his success.

Open Forums for provost finalists begin Feb. 6

UW-La Crosse will host several open forums in order to determine the next Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Meet the candidates at open forums from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Strelczyk Great Hall, Cleary Alumni & Friends Center. The finalists and dates include:

Jimmy Ishee, Dean of College of Health Sciences, Texas Woman's University on Wednesday, Feb. 8.

Heidi Slettedahl Macpherson, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation, De Montfort  University (DMU), United Kingdom on Monday, Feb. 13.

Virginia Arthur, Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, University of Northern Iowa on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
