Volleyball falls to EC

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team, ranked 14th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), fell 3-0 (30-25, 30-27, 30-23) at UW-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 20-8 overall and 3-4 in the WIAC while the Blugolds improve to 18-7 overall and 6-2 in the conference.
Nina Walch led UW-L with 11 kills while Katelyn Carlson added 10. Samantha Dries totaled 36 assists for the Eagles while Amber Schoonover had a team-high 14 digs. Carlson added 12 digs and Melannie Tate 10.
UW-L hit .224 as a team.
Abby Freiborg led UW-Eau Claire with 14 kills while Rachel Ver Voort had 12 kills and Katie Fox 11. Emily Haese led the Blugolds with 52 assists while Freiborg had 22 digs.
UW-Eau Claire hit .267 as a team.
UW-L returns to action tonight hosting UW-Stevens Point at 7 p.m.at 11 a.m.
