Men's Tennis 1-2 after weekend duals

The UW-La Crosse men's tennis team went 1-2 over the weekend in matches played at the YMCA Tennis Center in Oshkosh. The Eagles finish their season at 11-7.
The Eagles opened the weekend with a 6-3 loss to UW-Eau Claire Friday, April 11. Mike Mooren (No. 1) and Nathan Fekete (No. 4) earned wins in singles play for UW-L. Mooren defeated Steve Lantz of UW-Eau Claire, 6-4, 6-3, while Fekete beat Lars Olson, 6-2, 2-6, (10-7).
UW-Eau Claire took the No. 2, 3, 5 and 6 singles with UW-L. Kevin Fawcett defeated Joey Van Lieshout at No. 2 (3-6, 6-2, 11-9) singles while Phil Loprinzi defeated Dale Wroblewski at No. 3 (6-2, 7-5). At No. 5 singles, Erik Brandner defeated Paul Vickers (6-1, 6-3) and at No. 6, C.J. Rose defeated Doug Marmar (6-1, 6-2).
The Blugolds took two of three doubles matches. Lantz/Loprinzi defeated Van Lieshout/Wroblewski at No. 1 (8-5) while Aaron Johnson/Rose beat Mike Frenzel/Taylor Schliewe at No. 3 (8-5). UW-L's Fekete/Mooren defeated Fawcett/Olson at No. 2 doubles (8-6).
UW-L came back to defeat UW-Oshkosh Saturday, April 12 by the score of 5-4. Mooren (No. 1), Van Lieshout (No. 2) and Vickers (No. 5) all recorded wins in singles. Mooren defeated Brandon Lepp (6-2, 6-1), Van Lieshout beat Brian Naidicz (6-4, 6-4) and Vickers defeated Todd Fuller (7-6, 7-5).
The Titans took the other three matches in singles. Seth Breunig defeated Wroblewski at No. 3 (0-6, 7-6, 10-7), James Lewison earned a win over Fekete at No. 4 (6-2, 6-2) and Nate Kilsdonk defeated Marmar at No. 6 (6-1, 6-4).
Van Lieshout/Wroblewski won at No. 1 doubles for the Eagles over Fuller/Naidicz (8-6) while Fekete/Mooren defeated Breunig/Lewison at No. 2 (8-6). The Titans' Kilsdonk/Lepp defeated Frenzel/Schliewe at No. 3 (8-2).
UW-L ended the weekend with a 8-1 loss to UW-Whitewater Saturday. The Warhawks took all six singles matches. Alex Lowe defeated Mooren at No. 1 (6-2, 6-2), Gianandrea Heyer defeated Van Lieshout at No. 2 (6-1, 6-4) and John Reed beat Wroblewski at No. 3 (6-2, 6-2). UW-Whitewater's Danny Glinert defeated Fekete at No. 4 singles (6-1, 6-4), Tim Moller beat Vickers at No. 5 (6-3, 6-3) and David Stefanik defeated Marmar at No. 6 (6-4, 6-1).
In doubles, Van Lieshout/Wroblewski defeated Heyer/Lowe at No. 1 (8-4) for UW-L's lone victory. Glinert/Erich Palecek defeated Fekete/Mooren at No. 2 doubles (8-5) and Reed/Stefanik beat Frenzel/Schiewe at No. 3 (8-4)
