April 16 - On this day in 1943, the hallucinogenic effects of LSD were discovered by Albert Hoffman. Hoffman, a Swiss chemist, worked for a pharmaceutical company and accidently consumed LSD and he experienced unusual sensations. He then intentionally took the drug to confirm his research and it again produced hallucinations.
April 17 -Today in 1790, Benjamin Franklin died.
April 18 - On this date in 1775, Paul Revere and William Dawes rode horseback to warn the American colonies that the British were coming. .
April 19 - The American Revolution began today in 1775.
April 20 - On this date in 1999, two teenagers shot and killed thirteen fellow students at Columbine High School.
April 21 - A General Motors factory in Janesville, WI produced its 100 millionth vehicle today in 1967.
April 22 - In 1994, former United States president Richard Nixon died.
