This week, I would like to present other people's confessions, gripes and other comments. These are compiled from my friends and people around campus. (I do not eavesdrop. These are just random things I hear).
It's ironic that La Crosse Street ("the crossing" street) is darn near impossible to cross. Morning, noon and night, it is really, really hard. People in cars don't slow down, and when the light backs them up, they line up so closely behind one another that you cannot get between them. So if you are driving on La Crosse and you see me (or countless other students) waiting along the road, stop. It will take you two seconds to let them cross, and it will probably make them feel good all day.
A friend of mine mentioned to me that he was here studying late and got a ticket in the commuter lot that he has paid to use. That doesn't seem quite fair-he did pay for it, after all. True, commuter lots are not to be used as overnight parking, but if it isn't habitual, I don't think he deserved a ticket.
There is no place on campus open early on Saturday and Sunday. I understand that there isn't a lot of demand for it early, but a lot of us work on the weekends. When Whitney doesn't open until 10:30 a.m., and I have to work at or before this time, I get rather irked. I don't keep real food in my room, so I have to suffer for the first few hours of work to get food. I'm not asking for full-fledged Whitney service, but maybe just a breakfast sandwich or something…
Bicyclists, rollerbladers, and other wheeled movers-watch out for us walkers. Countless students are almost killed by you daily. Be aware. Thank you.
If you have any gripes, confessions or comments, please send them to us. We will be happy to print them, and I will be happy to comment on them.
