Kander and Ebb's classic musical follows the story of the young romance between cabaret performer Sally Bowles and American writer Cliff Bradshaw through the turbulent times of the Nazis' rise to power in Berlin. The musical is overseen by the vivacious Emcee, the master of ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub, and is offset by the relationship between German boarding house owner Fraulein Schneider and Jewish fruit vendor Herr Schultz. UW- La Crosse's production of Cabaret will be directed by Mary Leonard with musical direction by Gary Walth and choreography by Kathy Gorman. Leonard, Walth, and Gorman have previously collaborated on UW-L's productions of Evita, The Full Monty, and Oklahoma! Performance dates for Cabaret are June 27-28 and July 2-3 and July 5 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinee performances are June 29 and July 6 at 2:00 p.m. Performances will be held in the Toland Theatre in the Center for the Arts on the corner of 16th and Vine Street.
