Iron Man delivers a surprising and triumphant cinematic adventure

I am not going to lie to you, I was not excited for Iron Man. In fact, I was dreading seeing it. "Another crappy superhero movie, just what I need," was one of the thoughts going through my head. I hadn't seen a good traditional superhero movie since Spider-Man 2 and had since lost faith in the genre.

Miss Tess: music off the beaten path

While sitting in a darkened lounge as the sun began to set, a reserved-looking Miss Tess could be seen vocalizing the same life struggles many of us go through. She was accompanied by saxophonist Alec Spiegelman and bassist Paul Dilley. Her voice was deep, rounded with the raspy quality of a classic blues singer, a voice she used to give a soul to the mixture of swing, blues, and big band collaboration.

UW-L Symphony Orchestra to hold final concert

A world premier, Beethoven's Triple Concerto, and a dramatic opera filled with love, jealousy, and bribes - all of these are part of the UW-L Symphony Orchestra's final concert of the year at 7:30pm this Thursday, May 8th. The Symphony is closing its year with an exciting concert.
