Music of Mexico will be featured in an upcoming performance at UW-La Crosse. The six-member band Sones de Mexico will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in Valhalla, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition. With its acoustic folk nature, Sones de Mexico has made many original arrangements of Mexican traditional music popular.
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Theatre Arts Department will open its season with a compelling story of self discovery and personal strength. The Diviners, by Jim Leonard Jr., will be performed October 10-11 and 16-18 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinee performances are October 12 and 19 at 2:00 p.
The acoustic duo "Ryanhood" will perform at UW-La Crosse. The two play at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in the Cellar in Cartwright Center. The duo has gone from playing subway stations to recording with Grammy-winning producers in just five short years. Ryan Green and Cameron Hood both went to University High School in Tucson, Ariz.
In this intense political election we sometimes forget the lighter side of life. We take for granted our freedom to do what we want, and our freedom to listen to whatever we desire. This campus is lucky to have an organization like Campus Activities Board(CAB) whose mission is to educate us all about different entertainment mediums, as well as give us something to enjoy when we are not hard at work studying.
