Silver Spotlight Movie Reviews

Nothing says “I love you” like amnesia

That time of year is coming once again. Gifts are being bought, dinner reservations are being made, and single awareness is on the rise once more. Yes, Valentine's Day is almost upon us. With that being said, a lot of people will be heading to the movies. There are a bunch of new movies coming out from Daniel Radcliffe's The Woman in Black to the found-footage style action-packed Chronicle. For those looking for a more romantic movie, fear not.  Next week will see the opening of a movie adaptation of a true story called The Vow.

The story revolves around the newlywed couple of Leo (Channing Tatum) and Paige (Rachel McAdams). Life couldn't be happier for the two until one day they get into a car accident. Paige is the only one who is seriously hurt, which results in Paige losing her memory of the last five years of her life. The amnesia erases any memories or love Paige once had for Leo. This leads Leo to start a desperate journey to get Paige to fall in love with him once more before he loses her forever.

I'm being completely honest when I say that I'd be interested in seeing this movie. I will always root for the underdog. This movie is the perfect example of that. This one man is doing everything in his power to make the woman he married fall in love with him once more with so many odds stacked up against him. Plus, I think a lot of women would absolutely LOVE Channing Tatum to do anything for their love. Considering the last movie I saw with him in it was The Dilemma, I like the change of him going from the guy cheating with Kevin James's wife to a married man trying to bring back his wife.

No matter what genre of movie you like, there will definitely be something that will interest everyone at the movie theaters these next few weeks. A lot of movies out there are getting good reviews and good word of mouth, so that's great to hear with the start of February.  If you're looking to go on a date with your significant other and want to go see something romantic, go see The Vow. Who knows?  Maybe it will be a special night to remember.
