Last spring there were groups on campus trying to register as many people they could to vote in the recall election of Dan Kapanke. I don't know what these groups were telling the people they registered, but as it is election time again I will risk being slightly redundant.
If you registered to vote in La Crosse then you vote here in every election. If you previously registered in a different district, you are still on the books there as well. You should choose one or the other. Let the other district know that you no longer vote in that district. Let your voice be heard. But each of us only have one voice. One vote.
I don't want to be known as that woman who hates on other women, but let's get real. Halloween weekend was cold. 30 degrees cold. Therefore the idea of prancing around in slutted up costumes seems unappealing to me. My deepest apologies but when I'm walking around campus in a sweatshirt, coat, mittens and a hat you should not be in bikini. We should place blame where blame is due: society. As a meandered through the Halloween costume racks this year it hit me that there wasn't a single option for women that wasn't reviling. Call me old fashion, but I stayed warm this year and dressed up as a lumberjack.
